Skechers Signs Men’s Apparel License Deal
Skechers USA, Inc. announced that Garson International has been named the licensee for Skechers men’s outerwear in the United States. Under the licensing agreement, Garson International will design, distribute and market Skechers Collection men’s jackets and coats.
“Since its inception several years ago, Skechers Collection has grown into a vital component of our diverse product offering,” began Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers USA. “The line’s tremendous success, strong sales and reputation for quality, stylish footwear made it a natural for Skechers first adult apparel license. We believe Garson International, a company known for producing very stylish outerwear for several cutting-edge brands, including FUBU and Lucky Brand Dungarees, will be a fitting complement to the look, feel and attitude of Skechers Collection.”
Greenberg continued, “Together, with our licensing agreements for children’s apparel and outerwear with Kids Headquarters, adult sport watches with Advance Group Inc. and adult hosiery with Renfro Corporation, Skechers is fast becoming a head-to-toe brand for the entire family.”
“Skechers is a great company with a wonderful image. Garson International is delighted to be working with them,” said Marc Garson, CEO of Garson International. “The Skechers Collection men’s outerwear collection will represent the best in quality, style and attitude.”
The Skechers Collection outerwear will be previewed through Garson International’s New York showroom beginning in the second quarter of 2003, with first shipments expected to be available in department and specialty stores for the Holiday 2003 selling season.
